OFAC Sanctions Cuban Entities and Adds Crypto Wallets to Blacklist
US Treasury targets Cuban regime-linked entities, blacklisting BTC, ETH, TRX, DOGE, SOL, LTC, DASH, ZEC wallets tied to alleged cybercrime and money laundering operations.
Woofun AI reports that the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has imposed sanctions on entities and individuals associated with the Cuban regime, adding multiple cryptocurrency wallet addresses to its blacklist. The restricted addresses span Bitcoin (BTC), ETH, Tron (TRX), Dogecoin (DOGE), Solana (SOL), DASH, Zcash (ZEC), and Litecoin (LTC). US authorities allege these assets are linked to cybercrime and money laundering, specifically citing Ukrainian citizen Dmytro Rashevskyi and Belarusian resident Yevgeniy Vladimirovich Silayev. The sanctions also target the Association of Revolutionary Combatants of Cuba and six state-owned enterprises, including Cuba’s Ministry of Tourism.
