Hyperliquid Testnet Stars Feature Adds HIP-3 DEX Address Whitelist Trading
Hyperliquid testnet deploys 'stars' feature enabling HIP-3 DEX address whitelists. Deployers can restrict position opening to verified users while allowing unrestricted exits, supporting regulated RWA and institutional use cases.
Woofun AI reports that the Hyperliquid testnet has launched the "stars" feature, introducing an optional trading address whitelist for HIP-3 DEX. This mechanism allows deployers to restrict opening or increasing positions to whitelisted addresses, with a current testnet limit of 10,000 addresses. Unauthorized addresses retain the ability to deposit funds and submit orders solely for reducing positions, ensuring exit liquidity.
The feature preserves the permissionless nature of the Hyperliquid base layer while offering optional access control. This enables scenarios such as KYC-compliant RWA trading, institutional indices, and private markets for DAOs or funds. It also allows new markets to limit early trading to market makers or partners to mitigate wash trading risks, without blocking existing holders from exiting.
