KB Financial Group Launches 150 Billion Won Fund for AI and Semiconductor Investments
KB Financial Group allocates 150 billion won to a new fund targeting AI, semiconductors, and robotics, aiming to cultivate unicorn companies in strategic industries.
Woofun AI reports that KB Financial Group has established the "KB National Growth Unicorn Scale-up Fund" with a total size of 150 billion Korean won, fully capitalized by its subsidiaries. Managed by the KB Securities PE Growth Investment Division, the fund targets investments in AI, semiconductors, secondary batteries, aerospace, mobile transportation, robotics, and biotechnology. The initiative was approved at the "4th Productive Financial Consultation Meeting" on July 24.
Additionally, KB Financial outlined a support plan aligned with government "three major super projects," covering semiconductors, power infrastructure, and physical AI data centers. The group intends to leverage its CIB center to identify local SMEs and shift corporate evaluation criteria toward technological strength and future growth potential.
