Galaxy Digital Acquires 500 Acres in Texas for Second AI Data Center Park

Galaxy Digital secures 500 acres in McGregor, Texas, for a new AI/HPC campus with 74 MW initial capacity, aiming to expand to hundreds of megawatts by 2030 and boost local tax base.

Woofun AI reports that Galaxy Digital has acquired approximately 500 acres in McGregor, Texas, to construct its second large-scale AI and high-performance computing data center campus. The project, developed with local partners, targets an initial capacity of 74 MW with power supply expected by 2028, while planning expansion to hundreds of megawatts by 2030. Galaxy projects the development will add at least $130 million to the local tax base.

CEO Mike Novogratz stated that the new campus builds on the successful private-rural community cooperation model validated at the Helios data center in Dickens County. This follows Galaxy’s 2022 acquisition of the Helios Bitcoin mining campus and its subsequent pivot toward AI and HPC. Currently, ERCOT has approved expanding Helios to 1.63 GW, which is leased to CoreWeave for 15 years.
