Zama FHE GPU Benchmark Hits 1,000 TPS, Mainnet Launch Planned

Woofun AI reports that Zama CEO Rand Hindi announced the company achieved a benchmark of 1,000 confidential transactions per second on GPUs. This performance represents approximately a 5,000-fold increase over the 0.2 transactions per second demonstrated at ETHcc in 2022. The estimated cost for running an FHE node is cited as $0.000004 per ERC7984 transaction, though this comparison to zero-knowledge proofs lacks independent verification. The self-reported benchmark has not yet been activated on any mainnet, and testing methodologies remain unpublished, with a live launch scheduled for the end of the year.

Hindi outlined long-term objectives of reaching 10,000 transactions per second by 2028 and 100,000 by 2030. Recent developments include the July 24 launch of a confidential RFQ exchange product, which shielded over $121 million in USDT on Ethereum within weeks. Zama also collaborated with Elliptic for compliance screening and co-founded the Confidential Token Association with OpenZeppelin and Inco to standardize encrypted ERC-20 tokens. The firm previously secured a $57 million Series B funding round.
