Managed by the Agentic AI Foundation under the Linux Foundation, this update simplifies large-scale Kubernetes deployments while enforcing issuer validation for OAuth and OpenID Connect to prevent mix-up attacks. The protocol introduces enterprise-hosted authorization extensions and a formal deprecation policy requiring 12-month advance notice. MCP Apps and Tasks are now official extensions supporting interactive interfaces and resumable asynchronous tasks.
