Gumi and SBI establish SBI Crypto Fund I with $18.3M capital, targeting Bitcoin and altcoins via staking and hedging strategies to bridge traditional finance.
Woofun AI reports that Japanese gaming firm Gumi, via subsidiary gC Labs, partners with SBI Financial Services to launch SBI Crypto Fund I on August 1. The private placement fund holds approximately 3 billion yen (18.3 million USD) with a three-year duration, featuring participation from institutions like Daiwa Securities Group.
The fund allocates capital primarily to Bitcoin and mainstream altcoins, employing staking, rebalancing, and hedging tactics. It aims to connect the cryptocurrency asset market with Japanese enterprises, building performance records for future financial products such as cryptocurrency ETFs, which remain unapproved in Japan.
