Crypto Protocol Revenue Hits $7.42B in 2026 as Token Prices Decouple from Fundamentals
Protocols generated $7.42B revenue in 2026, yet token values lag due to issuance and unlocks. Hyperliquid burned 47M HYPE while PUMP buybacks failed to offset price drops.
Woofun AI data shows that crypto protocols have accumulated approximately $7.42 billion in revenue so far in 2026, according to Castle Labs. The study examined six major protocols, including Aave, Hyperliquid, Pump.Fun, and Uniswap, which collectively generated around $726 million in the first half of the year. Despite these figures, net value inflow for token holders turned negative after accounting for token issuance, unlocks, and incentives.
Hyperliquid has burned over 47 million HYPE tokens to date.Meanwhile, although PUMP executed buybacks totaling more than $315 million, its token price remains down roughly 60% from issuance levels. The report emphasizes that protocol revenue does not automatically translate into token value, urging investors to scrutinize value accrual mechanisms, unlock schedules, and equity structures.
