However, the fund has paused new capital intake. Leopold stated in a letter to investors that all leverage has been eliminated and bank brokerage services for increasing investments will not be used temporarily. He characterized the crisis as a costly but invaluable lesson. This event highlights divergent views between Silicon Valley and Wall Street. Wall Street figures, including S3 Partners founder, criticized the strategy for excessive leverage and concentration. Barclays had previously declined the fund due to concentrated industry exposure. Conversely, Silicon Valley perspectives view the downturn as a buying opportunity. A New York University professor noted that Silicon Valley rewards correct judgments in transformative technology, whereas Wall Street prioritizes risk-adjusted returns and principal protection.
