Woofun AI reports that Tongyi Qianwen has officially open-sourced the Qwen3.8 model series. The newly released Qwen3.8-27B is a native multimodal Dense model with 27 billion parameters, delivering performance that exceeds Qwen3.7-Plus in real-world applications such as programming and office work. Distributed under the permissive Apache2.0 license, it is positioned for local deployment.

Additionally, the flagship Qwen3.8-Max model weights have also been made available as open source.
