The best thing you can do is practice your talk several times and ideally starting a few days in advance of the actual talk. If you do this consistently over the years, then spontaneous speaking becomes so much easier too. But, there is still something powerful about a proper choreographed talk that has been prepared and rehearsed in advance. In fact, during my PhD, my advisor warned me that I'd struggle to compete with American PhD students who are naturally more charismatic. It was a good warning. I spent time watching youtube, taking notes, and mimic'd the style. UX academic conferences often have _really_ good presenters. Even with all the practice though. My heart would be hammering in my chest just from the nerves. Preparing does a remarkably good job at hiding the nerves, but it is still always there. Practice, practice, and practice. This will pay dividends over the years. Especially if you have an accent, like me, as its a great way to weaken your accent over time and focus on being audible for a wider audience.

Apparently Anthropic's cap table also has a Trust that is dedicated to preserving the mission of AI's benefit to humanity (and safety). The Trust's power grows overtime and has the power to appoint/remove directors. The Trust is a collective of people who should be experts in AI, but do not have the same upside in Anthropic. Thus, separating economic upside from decision making. That is very interesting, and also, very weird. (I don't think people realize that corporate governance can actually be 'decentralized' in the crypto sense)

I’ve cut a lot of travelling this year; mostly just been to 2-3 events. Always wonderful to see people, but I’ve enjoyed just staying at home, working, and focusing on health/fitness. Highly recommend others try to do the same this bear market.
