ai16z Token Declared Dead as Foundation Winding Down Operations
ElizaOS founder confirms ai16z token is 'completely dead' with foundation winding down. No buyback funds remain, treasury surrendered in legal settlement, and future development will proceed without token support.
Woofun AI reports that ElizaOS founder Shaw declared the ai16z token "completely dead," confirming the related foundation is gradually concluding operations. Shaw stated there are no funds available for token buybacks or additional supply to support the market, and he personally holds no remaining tokens while refusing to support a future Eliza token launch.
Shaw explained that a lawsuit from Burwick led to a settlement due to insufficient legal defense funds, resulting in the surrender of the remaining treasury. While he claimed to have only earned an engineer-level salary and never sold ai16z, he affirmed that Eliza’s underlying OS development will continue independently of token speculation, focusing on localization, privacy, and encrypted smart body technology.
