Woofun AI reports that Samsung Electronics is restructuring Samsung Wallet to incorporate stablecoins, a strategic pivot announced by product manager Lee Dinham at the Galaxy Unpacked event. This integration marks a deliberate expansion beyond traditional payment rails.
Lee Dinham positioned this update as a competitive differentiator, asserting that Samsung Wallet will transcend conventional cash and savings management. By enabling native stablecoin support, the company aims to become one of the first major mobile brands to facilitate fast, trusted digital value transfers directly on smartphones.
Specific operational details remain undisclosed, including the launch timeline, supported stablecoin types, and partner identities. Per Woofun AI, Samsung declined to comment regarding these specifics.
However, the groundwork was laid in October 2025 when Samsung expanded its partnership with US-based Coinbase, allowing Galaxy users in the US to purchase crypto directly through the wallet. This initial integration targeted over 75 million Galaxy users in the country, with a broader rollout scheduled.
The stablecoin feature complements Samsung Wallet’s existing suite of payment cards and rewards services. Coupled with the recently introduced Galaxy Card, this move solidifies Samsung’s broader strategy to build a comprehensive financial ecosystem.
